RAHIMYAR KHAN: A court bailiff has recovered a man illegally detained by a Punjab Constabulary DSP at the DFO office.

Muhammad Shafi, a resident of Chowk Bahadarpur, filed a writ petition in the sessions court, complaining that DSP Imran Babar Jamil Chishti of the Punjab Constabulary summoned him at his office on Dec 30 last and forced him to reconcile with his rivals. He said the DSP sent him behind the bars on his refusal to acquiesce in to his unjustified demand.

Thereafter, he said, the A-Division police shifted him to the DSP office (on the premises of the DPO office). On court direction, bailiff Saeed Ahmad rescued Shafi and took the entry register of the DPO office into his custody. The bailiff submitted his report in court.
