Adenzai people get health cards

TIMERGARA: Qaumi Watan Party leader Bakht Baidar Khan on Friday said 25,000 Sehat Sahulat cards have been distributed among the deserving families of Adenzai, which will entitle more than 100,000 poor patients to free medical treatment at government hospitals.

He stated this while addressing a cards` distribution ceremony at Shaban village of Adenzai. He said eight members of a familywere entitled to medical cover on a single card.

Bakht Baidar said the Sanam dam project, when complete, would not only increase agricultural production, but also create jobs and reduce poverty in the region.

The MPA said more than 2,000 canals of fertile land would be irrigated through the dam.

THESIS DEFENDED: Waseem Khan, a lecturer in the University of Malakand`s sociology department, on Friday success-fully defended his PhD thesis titled `Masculinity & Criminality; The Masculine Dimensions of Violent Crimes among Pakhtuns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa`, accordingto a press release.

Waseem has been teaching for eight years in the department of sociology, and has published more than 50 research articles in national and international journals.

In his thesis, he highlighted the socio-cultural patterns and exhibition of masculinityin creation ofviolentpersonalitiesinthe Pakhtun society.
