GHALANAI: General Officer Commanding of 45 Engineering Division, Major General Inam Haider Malik, performed the earthbreaking ceremony of Mohmand Cadet College at Mamad Gat Chowk in Safi tehsil here on Friday.

Brig Fawad Qamar, Brig Haroon Ishaq and Senator Hilalur Rehman were also present on this occasion.

The GOC in his address said that the development of education sector in Pakistan was the need of the hour. He said that the Pakistan Army had always given priority to education and community services.

He said that an army public school would be constructed at Ghazi Baig while Mamad Gat hospital would be upgraded so that the local tribesmen could get health facilities on their doorstep.

He said that construction work on the cadet college would be started soon and classes next year. Maj-Gen Haider lauded the sacrifices of the Mohmand tribesmen for the restoration of peace in the area.
