DADU: A man shot dead his wife and stepson after a heated argument over the family`s demand for purchase of monthly ration in Sawro village, 65 kilometres from here, on Monday.

Neighbours said that Daud Khaskheli flew into a rage when his wife and stepson Omer demanded Rs10,000 for purchasing the monthly ration for the family. He refused to pay the money and instead gunned them down after exchange of hot words, they said.

Some villagers believed the motive of the double murder was karo-kari allegation.

Tando Rahim Khan police brought the dead bodies to Johi taluka hospital from where they were later handed over to relatives after autopsy.

Police have arrested Daud and lodged an FIR of double murder against him.
