2nd anniversary of Daraza carnage victims observed

By Our Correspondent 2017-11-07
SANGHAR:ThePakistanMuslimLeague-Functional (PML-F) and Hur Jamaat decried that despite the passage of two years, Daraza carnage culprits were still at large.

In 2015, 12 Hur Jamaat followers were killed near Daraza Sharif in Khairpur Mirs district on the day of localbodies`election.

At a public gathering held near Sinjhoro to mark the second death anniversary of the Daraza victims the other day, speakers said the massacre was a preplanned conspiracy hatched by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). They said the target of the attack was Syed Ismail Shah, son of sitting Federal Minister Sadruddin Shah.

Those who addressed the gathering were Sindh PML-F secretary general Sardar Rahim, MPAs Nusrat Sahar Abbasi and Saeed Khan Nizamani, and Hur Jamaat khalifas Ali Ghulam Nizamani and Waryam Fageer.

The gunmen, who sprayed the victims with bullets from their hideouts, were supported by the provincial ruling party, they alleged.

They said the Hur Jamaat had a proud history of nghting repression, but they exercised restraint on the instructions of Pir Pagaro, who told them to take legal remedy, which was still being denied and obstructed by the PPP, they said.

They said the PPP government showed their ineptness by posting their cronies on key government positions. They said the PML-F had been subjected to the worst form of victimisation by the ruling party in the province for the past nine years. Hur Jamaat khalifas, MPAs and local bodies` office-bearers had been implicated in false cases, they said.

They said that after the violent incident in Sanghar, over 10 FIRs were registered at various police stations against the Hur Jamaat members. But after a police investigation, most of the FIRs proved false, they added.

They said the Election Commission of Pakistan had been silent on the flagrant corruption of the PPP MPAs. They said Sharjeel Memon, who was a mere real estate agent, had turned into a billionaire overnight.

MPA Nusrat Abbasi claimed that Sharjeel Memon had been facing a corruption and 12,000 acres landgrabbing case.

She said she had been elected MPA twice in succession, but she could not afford to purchase a house.
