IGP`s farewell at Police Lines

LAHORE: A farewell darbar (party) was held at the Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, in the honour of outgoing IGP Mushtaq Sukhera. Mr Sukhera is reaching the age ofsuperannuation on April 10.

Addressing the darbar, the IGP said the Lahore police had a magnificent past and `I am proud that I have also been part of it.` He said he also served at the Police Lines as SP Headquarters -a place where he is addressing hisfarewell speech.

The IGP lauded the services of Lahore police and said the officers and officials had faced all types of challenges and come up to the expectations of the higher authorities and public. The Pakistan Super League final and Zimbabwe Cricket Team`s tour were a great challenge for the police and they did their job with dedication and devotion. The Lahore police would continue to work for protection of honour, lives and properties of citizens, he said.

CCPO Amin Wains said the IGPlaunched welfare project for the force.

He said technology-oriented projects were introduced and he also establishedfrontdeskstochange the thana culture. He said the IGP got approval of government to improve compensation package for those policemen who die in the line of duty, and also changed the police uniform.

The CCPO also presented souvenir to the IGP on behalf of Lahore Police.

Earlier, the IGP attended the passing-out parade of 330 lady police recruits at the Police Training Center, Chuhng.
