Hum Aik Haen draws crowds

LAHORE: The information and culture department with the assistance of Punjab Council of Arts and Lahore Arts Council put together a fabulous inter-provincial cultural show titled Hum Aik Haen, featuring artistes from all provinces of the country at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Thursday.

This mega cultural event was organised in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.

The show was attended by a large audience including Punjab Council of Arts Executive Director Saman Rai and Ather Ali Khan of LAC along with other government officials.

The stage was tastefully decorated with illuminations and Pakistani flags. The show unveile d with national anthem presented by a brass band, followed by a performance of the Alhamra Academy artistes who with the students of Wahdat Road College sang a few national songs. Singers Abdul Rauf and Iman Fatima sang a national duet `I love my Pakistan.` An electrifying performance on Dhol was given by Zaigham Abbas, followed by a Balochi dance by Versatile dance company.

The evening marked many magnificent performances representing Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Keelash and Punjab.

The audience liked Khatakdance and singers from KP Shaukat Mehmood and Nabeela Wadood. Suleman Yaras from Gilgit-Baltist an also sang a melodi-ous song.

Jangi Khan sang a folk Balochi song on the occasion which was highly admired bythe audience.

The jam-packed hall had audiences from all age groups who thoroughly enjoyed the show.
