Demos against Indian aggression

LAHORE: The Rawadari Tehreek held a protest outside the Punjab Assembly against the human rights violations by India in Kashmir, calling for the international community to condemn the atrocities committed in the restive region.

Samson Salamat, chairman of the Rawadari Tehreek, said the Indian government had revoked Article 370, which gave Kashmir its special status.

He said it must instantly be r e i n s t a t e d .

Implementation Minority Rights Forum Chairman Samuel Pyara said this was the time Pakistan`s parliament and political parties should join hands instead of creating differences.

Radesh Singh Tony,Tariq Siraj (Human Concern Network), Zubair Khan (Aurat Foundation) and MQM representatives Yasmin Anis and Salma Munir were also present at the solidarity camp.

In a separate protest, a small gathering of the Hindu community gathered outside the Lahore Press Club where Hindu Council president Amaranath Randhawa spolce to Dawn and said being members of minority in Pakistan, they especially wanted to highlight that they were standing with the people of Kashmir and that theywere against the revocation of the Article 370.

Heera Lal, president of the Hindu Sadhar Sabha, was also present at the protest as well as Rev Samuel Nawab from the Raiwind Diocese also spoke.
