LAHORE: The PU Academic Staff Association (PUASA) Elections 2016-17 are being held on Thursday (today).

The two panels -Teacher Front and Teachers Alliance -are contesting for the polls.

The Teachers Front has the backing of Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran while the Teachers Alliance is being backed by PU College of Information and Technology Principal Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar.The Teachers Alliance panel is Javed Sami (president), Dr Muhammad Usman Awan (secretary), Dr Asmatullah (VP Science), Dr Asghar Iqbal (VP Arts), Dr Shahbaz Cheema (joint secretary) and Tariq Mahmood Butt (treasurer).

The Teacher Front panel is Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmad (president), Dr Mahboob Hussain (secretary), Dr M.

Azhar Naeem (VP Science), Dr Abid Hussain Ch (VP Arts), Dr Muhammad Shafiq (joint secretary) and Chaudhry Naeemullah Khan (treasurer).
