Another spell of rain expected next week

ISLAMABAD: A fresh rainspell is expected from next week as the Met Office has predicted above normal rainfall for this month.

Light clouds from the west were already penetrating the country. As a result, minimum temperature in the capital has been recorded at 8° Celsius and is expected todrop to 7° Celsius during the night.

The minimum temperature in Murree has already dropped to 5° Celsius and is expected to drop to around 1° Celsius on Monday.

Light rain-thunderstorm with light snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan during the night in the coming days. Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.

In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, light rainis expected in the mid of next week.

The Met Office said that based on global and regional meteorological indicators it was expected that there was a probability of 60pc to 70pc above normal rainfall in the northern parts of the country and nearly normal rainfall in southern parts.

The Met Office predicted two to three spells of light to moderate rainfall. Snow was also expected in the northern parts of the country.
