Arts Council officials get pre-arrest bail

K ARACHI: The president, secretary and an executive director of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi were on Monday granted pre-arrest bail for their alleged involvement in corruption.

A division bench headed by Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh gave Aijaz Ahmed Faroogi, Muhammad Ahmed Shah and Nadeem Zafar Siddiqui interim bail in the sum of Rs500,000 each.

The three officials approached the SHC apprehending arrest by the National Accountability Bureau, which is investigating charges of corruption and misappropriation of funds against them.

The NAB of ficials on July 30 had visited the ACP after receiving a complaint and sought records of the council.
