ACE arrests two for land fraud

NAROWAL: The AntiCorruption Establishment (ACE) arrested a union council (UC) vice chairman and a Computerised Land Record Centre clerk on Thursday for grabbing eight kanal and five marlas of a visually challenged woman through fraud.

Rukhsana Qaiser, wife of Muhammad Sultan, of Jajowala village, pleaded to Gujranwala ACE Director Sheikh Farid in an open court that Pejowali UC ViceChairman Sharafat Aliand clerk Irf an Qaisar had grabbed her land by getting her thumb impressions on the land transfer papers fraudulently.

An inquiry found the two guilty of fraud. ACE Circle Of ficer Muhammad Ilyas arrested them on Thursday.

Sultan said he had three daughters and one son. His wife Rukhsana Kausar and one daughter, 18, were visually challenged, while another daughter had mental health issues.

Also, the ACE recommended the deputy commissioner to correct the land record.
