Student foils her abduction bid

SIALKOT: A girl student foiled an alleged attempt to abduct her by raising an alarm at Daska on Thursday.

According to the FIR ( No 1/2018) lodged at Daska city police station, the first-year student of the Government Postgraduate College for Women was waiting for a van near the college`s main gate when suspect Bilal Latif allegedly tried to abduct her at gunpoint.

She offered resistance to the suspect and raised an alarm. Alerted by her call for help, some passersby intervened, making the suspect nee thescene while resorting to aerial firing.

Later, the student told the police that the suspect had been harassing her on the way to college.

The police have started investigation with no arrest made so far.

PRA NOTICES: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) on Thursday issued notices to as many as 500 car dealers for bringing them under the tax net in Gujranwala division`s all the six districts.

According to senior PRA of ficials, the authority has also given one month period to the car dealers for paying their taxes, warning them that otherwise their showrooms will be sealed.
