T HER E is a community centre in the residential area of Shanti Nagar, Karachi.

At the beginning it was run by the residents` association, but later on taken over by the Sindh Welfare Department.

In 2012, another community centre was built tolook after children and prepare them as good citizens.

Lately when I visited the centre to know about the steps taken to develop the organisation, the officer concerned complained of lack of funds.

As residents of the area, we want to establish a computer centre here, maintain agoodlibrary and startclassesforguidance of candidates for CSS and other competitive examinations. The chief minister and other relevant authorities should take necessary steps to help the residents of the locality.
