LAHORE: The Punjab government says there is neither any proposal nor any intention to purchase luxury vehicle for the chief minister, as reported by Dawn on Wednesday.

An of ficial spokesman said the vehicle is being purchased for protocol duties of the Punjab government keeping in view the high influx of head of the states, foreign dignitaries and of ficials, etc.

Moreover, the spokesman said newly purchased helicopter Mi-17i by the Punjab government is also a multipurpose machine which would be used as an air ambulance in emergency/ disaster situations.
