LAHORE: The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast rain-thundershowers with gusty winds at a number of places in the country from Sunday to Friday.

It said the five-day spell would be generated by a shallow westerly wave that is likely to affect western and upper parts of the country from Saturday night.

It forecast rain-thundershowers with gusty winds at scattered places in KP, Fata, Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions) Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places in northeast-Balochistan, central/southern Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal and Faisalabad divisions) during Sunday to Friday.

There is a high risk of landslides in mountainous and sub-mountainous areas of KP, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated events of hailstorm are also likely during the period.
