LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has begun consultations within the party and also plans to take all opposition parties on board on formation of the caretaker government in Punjab.

Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed on Friday met party Chairman Imran Khan and discussed the plans for a caretaker government in Punjab. They also discussed the membership campaign as well as party`s mass public meeting scheduled at Minar-iPakistan ground on April 29.

Since Mr Khan has advised the opposition leader to consult opposition parties as well as independents in Punjab Assembly about the caretaker government, Mr Rasheed has called a meeting of parliamentary leaders of opposition parties PPP, PML-Q and Jamaat-i-Islami to discuss the matter.

The opposition leader said the meeting, scheduled for next week, would also discuss and select candidates for the caretaker chief minister. Initially, Mr Rasheed held a preliminary meeting with PTl MPAs and took them into confidence.
