ABBOT TABAD: Tehreek1-Sooba Hazara (TSH) chief Baba Haider Zaman has announced to withdraw his threat not to allow Imran Khan to address a public meeting in Abbottabad today (Sunday) after the provincial government agreed to meet his demands.
Addressing a press conference at his residence after meeting with KP government officials, Baba Zaman said after the government decision the TSH won`t make any attempt to disturb peace in Hazara division.
However, he vowed that the Tehreek would not retreat from its basic demand for a new Hazara province.
Baba Zaman`s announcement came after an agreement was signed by KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, adviser to CM Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani and TSH secretary general Sardar Fida Hussain here on Friday night.
It should be noted that Mr Zaman had announced not to allow Imran Khan to address a public meeting in Abbottabad as his eight demands were not met by the KP government. The demands included payment of compensation to the families of seven persons 1(illed in Abbottabad riots on April 10, 2010, jobs for the injured people and filing of FIR against the culprits involved in the killings.
Baba Zaman along with other people had blocked the KKH on April 12 on the 7th death anniversary of the deceased to protest nonacceptance of their demands.
He was promised that the demands would be accepted in 10 days, but that could not materialise, forcing him to threaten to disrupt the public meeting of Imran Khan.
The situation was very tense in the city and a series of lengthy meetings were held between the PTI leadership and TSH office-bearers after which Mr Qaiser accepted the demands.Correspondent
