LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Public Accounts Committee-I has identified massive irregularities in the affairs of Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board, including sale of livestock farms` milk at Rs43 per litre that is far less than the market price.
Opposition Leader Mahmoodur Rasheed, presiding over the PAC-l meeting at PA Committee Room on Thursday, asked the board administration to submit last three years` detailed report about the `illegal` appointments and promotions as well as `purchases without tendering`.
The meeting was attended by committee members Sardar Waqas Moakal, Malik Javed Awan and Saira Iftikhar, besides livestock department secretary and officials of finance and audit departments.
During the briefing, the meeting was told that the livestock farms` milk was being sold at Rs43 per litre against the market rate of Rs56 per litre.
It was also informed that a number of officials in the department had been promoted more than once in the last three years. Similarly, it was learnt that livestock department`s animals were being sold and purchased without any tenders.
