Donation for special children school

SIALKOT: The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has announced a Rs100 million donation to establish a `Little Angels` Home` at Sialkot Cantonment for the local children with spe cial nee d s.

At a fundraising ceremony, SCCI President retired Maj Mansur Ahmed said on Thursday the project would be completed by the SCCI and the army.

Brig Zahid, Sialkot District Coordination Officer Dr Asif Tufail, District Police Officer Dr Abid Khan, Sialkot International Airport Limited Chairman Malik Muhammad Ashraf and Board of Directors Chairman of Air Sial Fazal Jilani and Sheikh Riazuddin were present.

BLOCK: The Buildings Department has declared intermediate classes` block of Government Jinnah Islamia Boys College dangerous due to its miserable condition and sealed it.

The department advised the college management not to hold classes in the portion.

The officials said the college`s admin block had also been declareddangerous.

College Principal Sabir Nazir Butt said the classes had been held in the building till June. He said they had told the officials of the provincial government about the dangerous building but to no avail.

SEALED: Sambrial Assistant Commissioner Taugeer Ilyas Cheema has sealed illegal private housing scheme adjacent to Sialkot International Airport.

Mr Cheema told Dawn the builder had established the scheme without a no-objection certificate from the Sambrial Tehsil Municipal Administration and failed to get its approval despite severalnotices.

He said the builders had illegally broken the seals when it was sealed and the Sambrial TMA had also got registered a case against scheme builder Umer Suhail with the Airport Police Station.

KIDNAPPED: Two women were kidnapped from their houses in Sialkot district.

In village Sangarwali (Daska), gunmen kidnapped labourer Younas` daughter and in village Nandpur (Sambrial), labourer Muhammad Husain`s daughter was kidnapped.

Police registered cases.
