2016-12-16
GUJRAT: In yet another dramatic turn in the case pertaining to the murder of five people of a family at Moinuddinpu, police claimed on Thursday to have once again arrested key suspect Mustajab Shah who had reportedly fled the custody on his way back to Gujrat after proceedings at a Gujranwala anti-terrorism court on Nov 19.

Gujrat DPO Sohail Zaf ar Chattha told Dawn that 16-yearold suspect Mustajab had been arrested after an encounter at Pubbi, Kharian. He said police had also filed an appeal with the Lahore High Court against the Gujranwala ATC`s decision of exonerating Shah from charges under section 6/7 of ATA as complainant Sajeel Shah had sought deletion of ATA sections in his written statement to the court.

Earlier on Nov 19, the DPO had told reporters that the suspect had killed his parents and his three siblings on the incitement of his maternal uncles over property dispute.

Bank manager Tasawar Shah, his wife Samia Khawar, sons Mursel Haider (17), Salman Haider (12) and daughter Rabeeka Zainab were allegedly killed by his 16-year-old son Mustajab Shah in September.Correspondent
