OUR TV channels come up with special transmissions for the holy month of Ramazan. I fail to see anything ‘special’ about these shows apart from the fact that there are a plethora of them and all are run-of-the mill af f airs that are a complete waste of time.
There was a time when the holy month’s advent meant the f aithful would throng mosques and give more time to reciting the holy Quran and giving charity. Nowadays the ‘Ramazan show’is the centre of every faithful’s attention. It pains one to see people making a spectacle of themselves for the sake of prizes that are certainly not worth sacrificing one’s dignity.
I hope people mend their ways and give the holy month its due respect.
