OUR TV channels come up with special transmissions for the holy month of Ramazan. I fail to see anything `special` about these shows apart from the fact that there are a plethora of them and all are run-of-the mill af f airs that are a complete waste of time.
There was a time when the holy month`s advent meant the f aithful would throng mosques and give more time to reciting the holy Quran and giving charity. Nowadays the `Ramazan show`is the centre of every faithful`s attention. It pains one to see people making a spectacle of themselves for the sake of prizes that are certainly not worth sacrificing one`s dignity.
I hope people mend their ways and give the holy month its due respect.
