LAHORE: Pakistan Railways (PR) authorities have yet to initiate the process for provision of catering services on three inter-city trains.
`The passengers of Musa Pak Express, Multan Express and Bahauddin Zakariya Express are being denied the catering facilities which are provided to those travelling other trains on Lahore-Karachi route,` a source told Dawn on Sunday.
Both Musa Pal< Express and Multan Express take five hours and 15 minutes to cover the distance between Lahore and Multan while Bahauddin Zakariya Express covers the distance between Multan and Karachi in 16 hours on an average.
Realising the inconvenience the passengers of Musa Pak Express and Multan Express, the PR authorities had on May 9 this year made arrangements on a stopgap basis to provide catering facilities to them. However, the contractor refused to continue the services after a month.
`The bidding process for the provision of catering services in dining cars attached with Tezgam Express, Allama Iqbal Express, Karachi Express and Jaffer Express has been initiated butnotfor these threeintercity trains,` said the source.
