KARACHI: A recent statement by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced a scheme that will begin development work at the Aziz Bhatti Park to regain its past glory so that its greenlawns can provide Karachiites a healthy place to enjoy nature.
This was stated by the KMC administrator Shoaib Siddiqui while inaugurating a waste water treatment plant installed in the park, with assistance from the Pakistan Customs.
He said that the huge lake of the park was being eyed byland grabbers who had started to dump construction waste and garbage in it so that later plots could be carved out of the land. But the newly installed biological waste water treatment plant would utilise the lake water for recycling which would then be used for gardening at the park.Customs collector S.M.
Tariq Huda on the occasion said that the plant has a capacity to treat 100,000 gallons of water daily and the treated water would help keep Aziz Bhatti Park green all the time.
The recycled water would also be used in the central lake of the park.
