Cast pins high hopes on comedy-thriller Chuhpan Chuhpai

LAHORE: In a [somewhat] revival phase, Pakistan film industry has become quite thriving as new movies are about to hit the box office with high hopes. One such movie is Chuhpan Chuhpai, an Ahsan Khan and Neelam Munir starrer.

The team and cast of the movie visited Dawn office on Saturday night and had a chit chat about the project and their expectations. As a part of film`s promotional campaign in Lahore, they went to various places, including a few universities and commercial concerns.

Heart-throb Neelam Munir, who has a huge fan following, told Dawn that Chuhpan Chuhpai is an essentially comedy movie with strong content. `It has been written in a way that every new scene will unfold a new surprise for filmgoers.

She said the entire team tried its utmost to make the movie a roaring success.

Male film lead and popular actor, Ahsan Khan, was of the view that the movie would create ripples inthe celluloid scene because of the effort and amount of best technical innovations the film was laced with.

` I think the released trailer ofthe movie shows its quality itself and is reflective of the fact that it would remain a promising one, said Khan.He said the script was so rich that when he went through it he couldn`t stop himself from saying `a big Yes` to the film.

The film being released on Dec 29 has been written and directed by Mohsin Ali, a NAPA graduate, anditishis directorialdebut.

It features Ahsan Khan, Neelam Munir, Faizan Khwaja, Sakina Samo,TalatHussain,Adnan Jaffar, Wajdaan Shah, Rehan Sheikh and special appearance of Javed Sheikh. The film has been produced by Ray Khan and Zaid Sheikh.

The filming of Chuhpan Chupai began in February 2016 and services of an American cinematographer were hired.

Another aspect of the movie is that it has introduced a number of new faces in its cast and most of them are from National Academy of Performing Arts, Karachi.

Film duo Neelam Munir and Ahsan Khan told this reporter that the movie would feature many youngsters. The film has mostly been shot in Karachi which has been explored in a novel way.

The film, they said, would hopefully be a valuable addition to the celluloid scene.
