PROTEST: The Chountra Welfare Organisation, a rights organisation, on Thursday organised a protest at Kamran Shaheed Chowk against lack of facilities in the region.
Malik Gul Bad Shah, Isam Jan and other speakers complained about the handing over of the records of agricultural tubewells by the Pesco to the National Accountability Bureau for action against defaulters and said people should be given a chance to settle the issue with the power company through dialogue.
They also resented the crackdown of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited against illegal gas connections in the district and demanded provision of legal connections to gas consumers to pay monthly bills.
The speakers warned the people would resist gas disconnection if the SNGPL didn`t give them legal connections.
