KARACHI: A young man committed suicide after shooting and wounding a young woman, stated to be his `friend`, in the Korangi Industrial Area on Monday, police said.

Murtaza, 28, took out a pistol after a quarrel with Kubra Habib, 26. He shot at and wounded her and later shot himself to death, said Korangi Industrial Area SHO Abdul Rasool Siyal.

The incident occurred near the KDA Society roundabout in Korangi.

Quoting the injured woman, the police officer said they had gone to visit the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Clifton. They were returning home in Korangi when a scuffle broke out between them over some issue, which led to the shootings.
