KARACHI: A young man was shot dead in Lyari`s Baghdadi area on Monday, police said.

They added that Abdul Jabbar, 30, was on his way to offer prayers in Shah Beg L ane when gunmen attacked him in a congested street and fled. Electricity supply was off in the area at the time. He sustained four bullet wounds in his head and chest and died.

`It appears to be a targeted killing incident,` said Lyari SP Aftab Nizamani.

However, the exact motive could not be ascertained immediately.
