TAXILA: A man was killed while his son seriously injured when the motorcycle they were travelling on was hit by a dumper on Monday.

Ghulam Murtaza, of Mewa Bagwal, Islamabad, was killed on the spot when a speeding dumper rammed into the motorcycle he was travelling on. His son, Sajid Ali was critically injured.

Ghulam Murtaza was on his way to distribute his son`s wedding invitations among family and friends in Wah Cant. They were travelling on G.T. Road near Nawababad when the accident happened.

The Wah Saddar police have registered a case against an unknown driver and have started further investigations.

Elsewhere in Taxila, a 60-year-oldman,Mohammad Yaqub, killed himself due to domestic rife on Monday.

The police said Mr Yaqub locked himself in a room and shot himself with his 30-bore pistol. The police have handed over the body to his relatives after an autopsy at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and have initiated further investigations. Correspondent
