I WOULD like to praise the surprisingly good change seen at the National Savings, Pakistan Secretariat Branch, Saddar, Karachi.
Over the past many years huge numbers of account-holders would queue up at this branch from 8am till 4pm but the rush would never seem to end. Many a time most dejected visitors would return without getting their work done.
Hats off to the recent management, which brought in a magical change. There are no queues, though the investors have remarkably increased as well. What could be the reason? Well, it`s the change brought in by the people and with the same old means and resources.
When there is a will to change, the change will come! Through these columns I would like to beam a small ray of hope for our people, as well as for all public and private service officers. One little example is set by one of our government offices, let`s change our attitude, be more polite and helpful to others. It would cost us nothing but will pay back dividends worth in the millions.
