LAKKI MARWAT: The local chapter of all primary schoolteachers association has asked the government to regularise thousands of teachers recruited through National Testing Service, and also give the teachers time-scale promotion and service structure.

The demands were made at a meeting here on Monday chaired by Apta`s district president Haji Abdul Rahim.

`The government should accept the demand of NTSqualified teachers, otherwise they will demonstrate outside the residence of PTI chief Imran Khan in Banigala Islamabad,` said Haji Rahim. He said around 40,000 teachers had been recruited through NT S in elementary and secondary education department across the province.

`With job security the government employees will work zealously to improve service delivery,` he maintained, saying the government should pay heed to solution to their problems. The Apta leader said the teachers won`t accept time-scale at the cost of losing promotion opportunities under the upgradation formula.

`The government should let the teachers to opt for promotion either through time-scale to the next higher scale at the same post or upgradation to higher post,` he added, regretting that the incumbent PTI-led government had failed to keep promiseswithteachersduringlastfouryears.-Correspondent
