DERAGHAZIKHAN: The district administration during an operation against land grabbers retrieved 20 kanals of land worth billions of rupees on Railway Road.

Several land grabbers had occupied the land for 49 years and constructed various structures that were razed down by the Tehsil Municipal Administration with the help of police.

A police contingent was present on the site as well as Saddar AssistantCommissioner Asghar Majeed Baloch, Naib Tehsildar Mehr Shamoon and officials from the revenue department.

On the occasion, District Coordination Officer Nadeemur Rehman Baig said a cardiology centre would be established on the retrieved land for which the Punjab government had released funds and construction would begin soon. Modern facilities at this centre would benefit people living in the districts of Balochistan adjacent to Punjab, he added.
