POSTAL Life Insurance is the oldest organisation of its kind in the Subcontinent. It was established in 1884, initially for assuring the lives of its own staf f. Af ter 1947 its scope was broadened to give assurance coverage to other government employees and the public.
At present it is under the finance ministry for insurance-related services to the public. Despite being a commercial organisation, its working leaves its customers in tears. I would like to share my personal experience.
I have been a PLI policy holder since 2004. I and my family have three policies with them. However, now I am facing severe problems with the PLI management.
I applied for a policy maturity claim in February 2017. After dozens of written reminders and countless telephone calls my problem has not been addressed.
I request the PLI management and finance ministry to look into the matter.
