CAPT Waseemuddin Razi, the hero of Tirah, presents one of the shining examples ofcourage, strengthand sacriñce.Born and grown up in Karachi, he got the training in Kakul and joined the SSG in Chirat.
True to his instinctive nature he had inherited from his parents who sacrificed everything while migrating from India, he had toughness of body and alertness of mind, from his very childhood, as if he had already decided to become a soldier. He used to hold a toy gun, run around jumping, staging mock attacks, malcing firing shots.
In a similar, but this time real, fight in Tirah on April 25, 2013, he fought the last battle of his life and embraced martyrdom in such afashion thathe leftfor others a shining example to follow.
That he opted to join the SSG leaves another motivation for others. During his deployment in Swat, his company got trapped in the mountain terrain. He saw three SSG commandos were airdropped who daringly managed to save the entire company. There and then he decided tobecome a commando. He, along with his 25 jawans was tasked to clear a compound in the Inzargul area. He was shot a couple of times and embraced martyrdom.
