ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Shuaib Shaheen and Tallat Zaidi were elected presidents of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) and Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) Rawalpindi registry, respectively.

Shaheen defeated Barrister Ahmad Hassan Shah in the IHCBA elections, securing 816 votes while his opponent Shah could bag 665 votes.

Saad Ahmed Rajput was elected as IHCBA secretary with 763 votes while Bushra Chishti secured 748 votes to win the finance secretary position.

In Rawalpindi, Tallat Zaidi defeated Ahsan Lillah to become the LHCBA Rawalpindi Registry president.

Zaidi bagged over 1,200 votes against Lillah who managed 986 votes.

Likewise, Malik Khurram Shahzad took 904 votes to become LHCBA`s Rawalpindi secretary. The other contestants for the same positions were Shabbir Mirza who polled 863 votes and Zain Mansoor bagged 415 votes.
