KARACHI: The 65th birthday of the Emperor of Japan Naruhito was celebratedhere at alocalhotel in the city on Thursday.
The event was organised by the Consul General of Japan in Karachi, HATTORI Masaru, and attended by a large of number of guests that included politicians, diplomats, businessmen and other dignitaries from various walks of life.
In his address, the consul general reflected on the longstanding and cordial relations between Japan and Pakistan, and highlighted recent efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation. He reaffirmed his country`s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan and collaborating with the local, provincial and federal governments to promote mutual development and prosperity.
Mr Masaru also emphasised Japan`s contributions to Pakistan`s socioeconomic development, particularly in the fields of disaster prevention, healthcare, and education.
He cited recent projects of educational facilities in rural Sindh as examples of Japan`s dedication to support vulnerable communities in the region. The evening concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, which was followed by a dinner featuring a blend of Japanese and Pakistani cuisines. -Dawn Report
