Fuss over spot-fixing
2017-03-30
I DO not endorse spot-fixing at all.
However, in a country where corruption is known to exist at all levels, spot-fixing seems something really petty. It is like a harmless game within a game without really causing harm to anyone ... unlike actual corruption which is destroying lives of people and causing irreparable harm to the country. It is strange that people have raised such hue and cry over spot fixing, while they have accepted actual corruption as a norm.
If at all anybody really suffers due to spot fixing, it is those involved in betting.
Further, the cricl(et board may lose revenue due to diminished interest of the public. In my view this may even be a blessing in disguise, as fewer people will be inclined to waste time on watching the sport, neglecting their work and causing inconveniences to others.
