LAHORE: The Anti Vehicle Lifting Squad (AVLS) police arrested two gangs of vehicle thieves on Friday and recovered 21 cars, 31 motorcycles, drugs and illegal weapons f rom them.

DSP Iftikhar Asim, on the direction of CCPO Amin Wains, constituted a police team which conducted a raid on information and arrested gang ringleader Sharafat alias Baba and his accomplices Liaquat Ali and Aslam.

The police team also recovered 21 cars worth Rs15 million, illegal weapons and 4kg hashish from their custody.

The suspects were involved in stealing cars parked in markets and streets.

They were also involved in snatching cars at pistol point and running drugs business.

Model Town DSP Saleem Mukhtar Butt constituted a police team which raided a house and arrested gang ringleader Muhammad Khan and his two accomplices Khuda Ram and Amanat Ali. The police also recovered 31 motorcycles and illegal weapons from the suspects.Reporter
