Imported cars: a real blessing

2012-03-02
WHY is it that local car manufacturers are raising such a hue and cry over the issue of imported cars? It`s not like the middle-class like myself in Pakistan can actually afford locally made cars at such exorbitant prices and that too with negligible features. Can they match the features and quality that imported cars come with and at much reasonable prices? For a much lower price than brand new local cars, imported cars provide so many options and features, even in small 660 cc cars not to mention the excellent build quality which these cars come with including other options like air bags, ABS brakes, power windows, power steering, retractable andadjustable side view mirrors, luxurious drive, adjustable headlights, excellent fuel economy and the list goes on.

With all these features at half the price who can resist not buying an imported car which from my past experience also requires less maintenance and are very reliable due to strict Japanese quality standards? Maybe if the local car manufacturers stop fleecing customers with substandard quality to increase their profit margins and ensure basic safety features like air bags, abs brakes and other attractive options to lure the customer, will people then start looking towards locally-made cars once again.
