LAHORE: The Pakistan Academy Selection Committee has invited filmmakers to submit their films for Oscar consideration in the `Foreign Language Film Award` category for the 89th Academy Awards by Aug 22, stated a press release.

The statement said this nomination will mark the fourth consecutive submission by Pakistani Academy Selection Committee having previously submitted Zinda Bhaag in 2013, Dukhtar in 2014 and Moor in 2015 to represent Pakistan in the foreign film award category.

The committee is chaired by two-time Academy Award and Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and includes Iram Parveen Bilal as the charge d`affaires, Zeba Bakhtiar, Adnan Siddiqui, Hasan Zaidi, Sheema Kermani, Sarmad Khoosat, Jamshed Mahmood Raza, Jamil Dehlavi and Adnan Sarwar. The committee will announce its nomination for award consideration on Sept 16.
