KARACHI: Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari visited the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) on Tuesday night to see his close aide and former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain currently under treatment at the health facility.
Sources in the PPP said Mr Zardari, accompanied by senior party leaders, spent half an hour with Dr Hussain and wished him well. This was the second such meeting between Mr Zardari and Dr Hussain in 10 days after the PPP cochairman`s return from self-exile last month.
Dr Hussain, charged with corruption of Rs462 billion, was shifted to the NICVD more than two weeks ago due to complaints of chest pain, sweating and irregular heartbeat.
