KHUZDAR: The annual urs of Bilawal Shah Noorani, popularly known as Shah Noorani, began on Monday amid extraordinary security arrangements put in place because of the suicide bombing at the shrine in November.

Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Suhailur Rehman Baloch inaugurated the urs celebrations by laying a wreath on the grave.

He said stringent security measures were taken to ensure peaceful ceremonies at the shrine, adding that personnel of Frontier Corps, Levies and Balochistan Constabulary had been deputed on the premises.

At least 52 people were killed and 102 were injured when a teenage suicide bomber blew himself up in a packed-to-capacity courtyard of the shrine last year.
