DADU: A large number of tribesmen stormed a village and shot dead two persons besides setting four houses on fire on Tuesday apparently in revenge for causing harm to their fellow tribesman by the affected villagers.
According to sources in Dubai village, some eight kilometres from Sita Road town, some people belonging to the Chandio tribe needed a donkey cart to transport a stock of grain from one place to the other and they asked some people, who happened to be members of the Solangi tribe, for a favour.
However, they did not oblige the Chandios which annoyed them. Both sides indulged in heated arguments and in fist-fighting. One of the Chandios, Mr Wakil, suffered injuries during the fight.
A little later, around 100-120 armed Chandios stormed the village and opened fire on four houses in the village leaving two persons, Razzak Solangi and Arbab Solangi, dead and a small girl, Dua Solangi, wounded. They also torched the houses before leaving the village.
Dadu police rushed to the village and started an investigation after taking the bodies into their custody. They also raided some houses but failed to find the culprits.
PPP MPA from Dadu Pir Mujeeb-ul-Haq, in a statement issued after the episode, condemned the attack and asked the SSP concerned to ensure arrest of all those involved in the tragic incident.
