KARACHI: Pakistan Customs arrested two passengers for trying to smuggle foreign currency worth $100,000 at Karachi airport, officials said.

They said Saeed Ahmed, a resident of Hyderabad, was caught before he boarded a Dubai-bound PIA flight and recovered Dirham and Saudi Riyal equivalent to Rs3.4 million hidden in his socks.

The customs also caught Minhajuddin, a resident of Peshawar, and seized Saudi Riyal and South Africa`s Rand equivalent to Rs8.1m.
