KOHAT: Police arrested 70 suspects, including alleged facihtators of proclaimed offenders, here the other day.

The operations were carried out in the jurisdiction of Junglekhel, Jarma, cantonment, city, Ustrazai, Lachi, GumbatandRiazMohammad Shaheed police stations.

The police said that as many as 21 facilitators of proclaimed offenders were arrested. Also, 48 people were booked under the Rental Act for not furnishing their personal details to the police before hiring a house. Cases were also registered against the owners of the houses.

The police also seized two hand grenades, hve Kalashnikovs, one repeater, five rifles, 26 pistols, five shot guns and 12 kilogrammes of hashish during the operations.

SEMINAR: Speakers at a seminar said that steps should be taken for promoting peace and amity in the society.

The seminar was organised by Awaz Forum which was attended by social workers and rights activists besides PTI`s central cultural secretary Waseem Anjum and councillor Malik Ishtiaq. The speakers said that for controlling violence, be it sectarian or political, it should be reported and stopped by the sane elements in any organisation. Correspondent
