QAID-E-AZAM Jinnah has issued the following message:`On the first anniversary of the Daily DAWN, I would inform its subscribers and readers that we have passed through our first year with no small success notwithstanding the various difficulties that we have had to encounter, difficulties mainly due to war conditions. We have not got our own printing plant and we have therefore been depending upon the services of an outside press. As you know we have had to organise our office and our staff in the absence of our own printing press and in the face of difficulties in securing newsprint (available in limited quotas) and in putting up all the equipment necessary for the production of a first class daily...In spite of handicaps DAWN has during its one year`s existence rendered most valuable services to the Muslims` cause and the All-India Muslim League...
To Muslim India DAWN has already become an institution...The press is a vital necessity for the progress and the welfare of the Nation because it is through the press that a Nation can be guided and its opinion moulded for the furthering of activities in all departments of life...
The day may come when every Muslim will become a reader of DAWN.` Dawn Delhi
