KARAK: Former local bodies members have demanded of the government to establish a girls` high school in the Gurguri union council.

Talking to mediapersons on Wednesday, former nazims Aqal Baba and Atique Khan complained that the union council had no girls` high school and the students quit studies after completing primary level.

They lamented that they had taken up the matter with the education department and the local lawmakers, but to no avail.

The former local bodies` representatives said keeping women without education was a human rights violation. They said an educated woman sustained the entire family and an educated mother could train her children in better way to become beneficial members of the society. Correspondent
