LAHORE, Nov 13: Activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Tehreek-i-Insaf, the two major rival parties, clashed with each other in Moon Market, Allama Iqbal Town, on Wednesday during submission of nomination papers by their favourite candidates.
The clash erupted when some Tehreek-i-Insaf aspirants alleged that the returning officer was not accepting their candidatures against Nawaz League`s Khwaja Ahmed Hassan, who is contesting from Union Council No 203.
Meanwhile, despite an announcement by the Election Commission of Pakistan that the local elections schedule will be revised, a large number of candidates filed their nomination papers with the returning officers on Wednesday, the last day under the previous schedule.
