LAHORE, Nov 13: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday chaired a video conference to review the law and order situation in the province regarding Muharram.
The moot that started in the evening continued for about four hours linking all the nine divisional commissioners and regional police officers (RPOs) as well as a cabinet committee on Muharram security that comprised law minister, home secretary, inspector-general of police and other relevant officers.
The chief minister directed that the police officers must not become sitting ducks and should visit the field for spot checking and monitoring of the security officials.
He said the writ of government should be imposed on each and every person irrespective of his/her political affiliations and socio-economic status.
He said that nothing could be more important than the maintenance of law and order and no effort should be spared for ensuring religious harmony, brotherhood and a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram.
