T HE mystery of the 22 tonnes of coal that went missing from a goods train from Port Qasim to Sahiwal comes as no surprise, considering the rampant corruption in the country.
The inquiry commission set up to probe the disappearance is at a loss on how coal transported on atraintravelhng at100 kms an hour disappeared. No responsibility has been fixed to date by the inquiry team.
However, as is the norm in such matters, the train guard will be held responsible for the matter and the inquiry closed.
The only positive thing in this report is that our goods trains can run at 100 kms an hour.
